Expired in 2012

About four months ago I bought ice creams from elgin mall Pick n pay in the East Rand, there were a competition sticker on them, I tried to send the sms for the competition, I received an sms stating that the competition is no longer running, when I phoned Nestle the lady at the call centre says that they don't have competions on at that stage, when I opened the wrapper completely I discovered that the ice creams was over their expiry date, they expired in 2012 somewhere. She took all the details from me for the item and the store and promised to send me a gift pack for the inconvenience caused by Pick n Pay, maybe the gift pack works like the expiry dates, almost a year after as I'm still waiting for it.
