Plasma TV stand was a demo

On the 18th of June 2013 I went and bought a plasma tv stand at Morkels in Middelburg on cash and not on credit. The salesman assured me that the tv stand will be delivered the next day, sales man's name is Thokozane and the surname i don't know as he had his name tag put on reversed. The stand was delivered the following day as promised but to my surprise it was damaged and the guys that came to deliver confirmed the fact that the stand was the one on display and not a brand new one. i made a call to Morkels and spoke to the salesman and he did confirm that it was the one on display at the shop and when i asked if they do not do any QC checks on their furniture before giving it to the customer i was told that no QC was done on the stand. Morkels furniture is one of the biggest brand names in South Africa and one would expect service of highest quality from such but to my surprise that has not been the case. This morning i called again and i was told they will only come at 3.What happened to good customer service and attending to clients complaints with a sense of urgency? I cannot even address this with the store manager as the store is said to have no manager.
