Home Affairs is a joke

On the 07/11/2012 I applied for an ID book after losing my old one at Home Affairs in Roodepoort, I even applied for a temporary ID which has also expired on the 07/01/2013. Last week i went to their offices to check if my ID book was ready, I was told it was still being processed and will have to come back some other time. Today (17/01/2013) I made a phone call and spoke to Ruth, She told me that my application was still lying there untouched and she also couldn't help me since she had to relieve the staff that had to go on lunch. she further instructed me to come to the office again. Calling their complaints department 0800 number is just waste of time, no one answers.
