South African local companies feel free to behave however they see fit. Kwela Power manages the electricity for my complex. They increase a residents deposit every twelve months after taking an average of your electricity consumed over a certain period. They manipulate the data and ensure they take consumption over the coldest months of the year and then average it out. So instead of over a twelve month period they view your consumption over winter and take that and then subsequently increase your deposit which you are forced to pay whether you want to or not or else you dont have electricity. The staff are INCREDIBLY RUDE and ABRUPT and dont phone you back after leaving messages and then when I want to speak to the General Manager i was told he is too busy and wont be phoning me back. I wanted to complain to him about the process being unfair but also to let him know that maybe his staff need to be trained with regard to speaking to customers. being courteous and polite didnt kill anyone yet. but he clearly doesnt care because as long as people need electricity in their homes he can behave any which way he chooses - i have to accept it or live without electricity.
