Unacceptable excuses for withholding my money!

I hired a TOM TOM from the Cape Town International Airport from the 18th to 20th February. I used my debit card to pay for the deposit as I was told that this would be ok. I returned the TOM TOM and they told me that the deposit would be paid back into my account within 3 working days. I then waited... nothing was returned, but I was debited yet again for the rental amount of about R149 for the 3 days. When I called the outlet, they first told me that I must check with my bank that they are not holding the money on the credit card. When I told them that I paid by debit card, (floors me that they cannot even pick this up??!!), they gave me another number (021) 934 0950 and told me to speak to a Queenie. I spoke to Queenie, but she told me to call Xoli on (011) 542 2700. I have been in contact with Xoli over the last 2 weeks regarding this and she told me that it would take 7 working days to pay me back as they had used my debit card. I said that I would wait. I had to ask for my invoice for the rental amount of R149 about 2 times before it was even sent to me. I get told that managers are out the country and they waiting for replies! This is not acceptable!
