Tri Ric Auto
VW Polo Tdi Sportline

Miscellaneous

I recently bought a 2005 Polo tdi Sportline (97kw) with 142000km. When I test drove the car the engine light was on and this was fixed by the dealer but after I took posession of the car the engine light came on again. I then booked a check up at my nearest VW agent and the problem was fixed for approx. R900. During my visit to VW they informed me that because this was a turbo recall model, VW SA will change the turbo free of charge because the turbo was never claimed. This was a huge relief as this is a common problem with these cars and I agreed to have this work done. While the car was at the VW agents they informed me that the turbo as well as all piping and intercooler is from the 73kw model and not 97kw which is the car's spec. This is where the problem starts because they have to fit the correct boost pipes as well as new intercooler, for this new turbo to fit and will cost me R10 000.
What am I to do now? I bought the car because of the spec-2door, 97kw, 6speed. My contract with the bank also reads " Sportline". The sportline polo only comes in one specification as mentioned above.
