NO AFTER SALES SERVICE

Electronics and household app.

I bought a Garmin Forerunner watch (FR60) bundle from the Cresta Totalsports branch in 2011, which included a watch, foot-pod and heart-rate belt. The watch carried a 1 year warranty on it. The watch worked perfectly up until the end of 2012, where it stopped synchronising with the foot-pod. Shortly thereafter the battery life of the watch expired as well. I took the watch back to the Total Sports store and requested that they replace the battery and ensure that the watch synced with the foot-pod again. I go the watch back, paid a R260 repair charge and 2 weeks later brought back the watch as I was still getting the same problem.
The watch was sent back to Garmin, remained with them for about 4 months thereafter and was returned to me with a comment that it was not repairable by them. In that period, Garmin then tried to force me into purchasing another model of watch from the store by offering me a discount on it, still requiring me to pay a further R999. I also did not receive any feedback on what the problem was with the watch and why it could not be fixed, had I know this up-front, I would have selected a more reliable brand.
