Delivery Delay -disappointing service

My package arrived on 31st, I contacted DHL 3 times so that they could send the customs details. Only on the 3rd attempt did I receive the information. I paid customs & I was told my package would be released in 8-12 hours.
My package was not released in time, no one at the call center new what was happening. On 8 January I finally spoke to a manager who realized that there was a typing error in the system. One of the agents typed my ID number incorrectly, this error resulted in customs delaying to release my package. No one called me to verify my details, had they called me earlier, this could have been solved, my package could have been delivered on time.
I thought after solving this with the mgr, the package would be delivered with no issue. I was told that delivery will take place on 9 Jan, waited all day called DHL only to get excuses that my package is to big so they will postpone to the next day. On 10 January I waited for my package got a call at noon that they cannot deliver its to heavy & to postpone next day. I was furious, I paid for door to door service& already it was delayed by a week, I was even told to go& pic it up myself! Why should we pay so much money for such a service?
