FAULTY CARBURATOR

I purchase a carburetor from Goldwagen DelaRey on the 27th February. Had it fitted by a qualified mechanic on the 28th and noticed that the carburetor was leaking petrol. The carburetor was faulty. On return with this to Goldwagen DelaRey JP was not helpfull at all and said that he can not help me did not want to give back my money. One of the other salesmen then gave me the claim form. I do not have a problem with this as I know the part needs to be tested by now I want to know what does my Chassis number, Engine number, Mileage and Vehicle owner got to do with all this. I only purchase a carburetor not a car from Goldwagen.
