Earlier this month I had to book my car into the Bedfordview dealership - they were going to fix a rattle in a car that I had just purchased from Mercedes Benz. My service advisor indicated to me that it would take several days and the only car they could give to me as a courtesy car was a Smart Car. I left the Merc premises and arrived at my work, only to discover the car did not lock. I manually locked the car with the Lock button in the inside as I had to attend a meeting and could not leave the car unlocked. When I came back I realised the car would not unlock. I phone Mercedez Benz & their after hour service centre several times but they were not helpful. After 18hoo someone came to help me, only to discover they had given me car without a battery in the imobilizer. The manual lock was also jammed. I could only leave after 20h00 that night. TO this day (over 10 days later) no one from Merc has bothered to call to find out if everything was ok, and to apologise for their gross incompetance. My service experience was no better. There was numerous delays and I could never get information as to the progress of the repairs. In addition, I question the Mercedez preowned quality.
