Nissan South Africa
Inferior Quality Parts... Even Worse Attitudes

Cars & Transport

Lets start with the fact that I have a I have a Maintenance Plan through Motorite. Yesterday I sent my Nissan NP200 in for it's first service. I was later informed that the brakes needed to be replaced- after only approx 16 000km. Motorite only offers brake replacement on industry standards- 20 000km. The replacement was not due to driving style but inferior quality provided by Nissan since the change over to Renault parts. Motorite rejected the claim- as is their right. So I was now liable for an additional R1600.00- after being told once I took out the Maintenance plan i would not pay a cent till at least 90 000km or 5yrs. I contacted Nash Nissan in Alberton and Nissan SA. Both blamed me and I was pushed around and treated like dirt. I was also told Warranty will not cover even though the brake pads are poor quality and this is not in anyway related to my operation of the vehicle. Out of desperation I called Motorite back and they agreed to pay the claim- Thanks Motorite!
The brakes are not my only problem though- there is rust under the bonnet, the hand brake needs adjusting, the radio doesn't work and nothing was explained about policy limitations. Bad form Nisssan!
