I purchased a used vehicle on 10 Sep 2012 for cash. I asked whether a check was done, and was assured by Jake, the sales person, that this was done. On 17/9/12 I asked Jake for report on inspection, as there is a problem with gear shift; rear window on passenger side slides down on its own, and no users manual received. The car had also not been registered in my name. Jake replied on 19/9: he is going on holiday, and referred me to his manager Pieter. On 1/10 Jake said they would be collecting my car, and deliver a loan car, so they could address the problems. They collected the car on 02/10, and returned it the next day with the papers and new regsitration plates, but nothing else was done, although I was assured it had been done. I still do not have the users manual either. I sent several e-mails to Pieter, to which I received no reply. On 6/11/12I sent Pieter an e-mail stating that, should I not receive a response or service by Thursday 8/11/12, i would assume he is not interested in assisting, and I would expect a cancellation of sale. Pieter replied that I must make a booking with his workshop! I have since seen an attorney, and a letter of demand was sent. Still no response.
