I went to Edgars to open an account. Afterwards they called to inform me that they cannot approve my application as my employer is not a South African company and that they do not call out of the country. I explained to them that I'm working overseas and that the number I gave them is the only number for my employing company. The Edgars employee called another employee to assist me (I don't know if it was management). This lady assured me that they had cases like this before and that she will call head office and get back to me.
She never did and on the afternoon of 14 October, I went to the Edgars in Tygervally. I told them that I would like to open an account. Knowing that Edgars doesn't want to make international calls, I took my agency in South Africa's contact details with me. This way Edgars could confirm my employment through my agency in South Africa. To my SHOCK the lady in Tygervally Edgars, told me that they declined an application for me and that I have to wait 3 months before I could apply again! UNBELIEVABLE! I sent my complaint via e-mail and they replied, saying "We have escalated your query to our new accounts department for assistance."I never heard from them again.
