Today, at about 15:00 I called the restaurant to make a dinner reservation for Saturday, 24 August 2013 for myself and my boyfriend to celebrate our anniversary. The lady who answered the telephone told me that she was unable to assist me with my reservation and asked me for my name and telephone number (which I provided) and informed me that somebody would call me back. At 16:45, nobody had returned my call and i decided to call the restaurant and a different lady answered and requested the same information as the previous one and told me that somebody would return my call. In the hospitality industry, it is extremely unprofessional that somebody cannot not do something as simple as take a reservation or inform the customer whether or not there is availability. Finally at about 17:10 Helen (not sure of her rank/position) returned my call, only to let me know that the restaurant is fully booked for the entire weekend. In the time i was waiting for her to return my call, which is approximately 2 hours, i could have made a booking elsewhere. As this is not my 1st time experiencing bad service when attempting to make a booking, i doubt I will try again :-(
