Was traveling from OR Tambo International Airport to Maputo on SA142 on 21 Oct 2013.
On my way to the aircraft, an official, Kagiso Modikoe informed that I am not entitled to 2 pieces of hand luggage, one piece has to be taken to the cargo hold. My hand luggage did not exceed the prescribed dimensions and not the weight limitation of 8kg too. My laptop bag is very small. As a frequent passenger on this route I have never ever encountered any problems previously.
I have noticed that some passengers passed with even more and bigger pieces of luggage without being stopped by Kagiso.
Approached the Senior Cabin Controller who informed that Kagiso will engage with me. Kagisio approached me eventually, extremely aggressive and horrid rude. I have stated that I'm not disputing the rule of 1 piece, but then the rule has to be applied to all at fault. A co-passenger also indicated to Kagisio she did not apply the rule and reprimanded her for her rude and extremely unprofessional behaviour.
On return from Maputo to Johannesburg, even worse, luggage allowed and size not even close to your rules, however, all allowed in the cabin! Shocking!!
