I took the greyhound bus yesterday from Durban to Johannesburg, we were supposed to leave Durban at 11:00 however the bus only arrived at the station at 11:00 and we only left at 11:25, had I known that this was the least of our problems I would not have boarded. We left and when we got to Pietermaritzburg we stopped for a while, when some passengers got out to find out why such a long stop they were informed that the bus had a minor mechanical problem. After about 20 minutes, the cabin attendant then used the speaker to inform the rest of us. We were waiting for a mechanic and then we will be on our way. The bus was fixed eventually after about 2hrs and we were on our way, much to our surprise about 30 minutes later on the road the bus stops, and we were then informed that the bus needs a rest after about every 20-30km. There was a point where I thought we were travelling 30-40km an hour, especially on the incline. The bus drivers changed buses on the highway since we were so late!!! For the money that we pay to board greyhound is this service excellence, or reliable travel. Greyhound certainly did not travel for me, We were on route for 12 hours, from Durban to Johannesburg!!!
