We booked to stay at Meerhof under the impression that this was a 4star lodge. We had booked multiple rooms, the Rose Cottage and the Bay View room as well as a room at the waterfront. Even though both the Rose Cottage and Bay view rooms were absolutely stunning and clean the Waterfront room had serious issues and was not part of the lodge. She explained that the waterfront room was physically distant from the lodge but did not indicate that this did not qualify as 4star. When we arrived you had to struggle in the dark to unlock the gates, which took a long time, it was completely rundown the grass outside was not cut and the place was quite dirty. To top it off it had a for sale sign on the outside. The gentleman on evening duty assisted us and found us a different cottage (Manor House), however it's 4 star rating was still questionable, but at least it was tidied and far better taken care off. This was seriously disappointing as this was booked for my wedding to be hosted at a different venue. To add to the disappointment Ria came screaming and shouting at me an 2 hours before my wedding making the experience even more unpleasant.
