I had recently planned to make use of the Long Term parking at King Shaka airport for 6 days, as obviously this works out a lot cheaper versus the other shaded parking available. When arriving at the airport, I wasn't able to park in the Long Term parking as it was completely full, therefore had no other option to park in the shaded parking area. This resulted in a parking charge of R495, whereas if there were Long Term parking bays available, I would have paid R350, and therefore saved R145.
Why are there so very few Long Term parking bays available, and literally hundreds and hundreds of other available shaded parking bays? Whenever I park at King Shaka it's always the same story, and I have heard many complaints from other people regarding the lack of adequate Long Term parking.
I do feel I should be entitled to a discount, or refunded the difference that I had to pay. If not, I will definitely be making use of the many other independent airport parking services in the future.
