I NEED TO PAY R200 TO GET A CHIP CARD

I have been a customer of Kulula Credit Card for over 5 years now. I have not had any problems/issues with my card. On the kulula website, it is advertised that there is a new card with a security chip and pin. This is great because all my other bank cards have this technology. I then contacted the contact centre to enquire about the card. I was advised to hold on by the voice prompt stating that a very friendly agent will attend to my needs. I must say I was somewhat disappointed as a very "normal" agent (Linda) answered my call. I explained to her that I am interested in the new card. She informed me that I will only receive the new chip card once my old card expires. This is on the 03/2016. She said if I want it anyway, I must pay approx R200 to get it. I am very disappointed because why must I pay extra to have a card that offers added security. If Kulula felt the need to improve on the security of the card, why must I bear the cost of it? I explained to Linda that if anyone had to get a hold of my card now, there is no security on it whatsoever. Anyone can swipe it! Therefore, Kulula improving the card. I refuse to pay R200 for this new card as it is unfair and unethical.
