Changing a booking - beware

I booked a Kulula flight for the 9th August ORT - KSA in early July. I needed to change it to the 8th when I discovered my error in not noticing that the 9th is a public holiday. The booking included a pre-paid seat.

I attempted to change the booking on-line about a month ago, but was not allowed to do so, the system stating that fare rules prevented it. I was therefore required to change it via the call centre:

1. I was charged the call-centre change fee.

2.I was assured at the time by Kulula staff that the seat booking would be transferred, and checking a couple of days later - it wasn't transferred.

3. In a further call to the Call Centre, the staff confirmed that the seat booking had been linked to the new flight.

4. I checked today and it was not linked.

5. Again I call the Call Centre and hear that seat bookings cannot be transferred because it is a different plane.

So beware if you buy a seat, you cannot change the flight booking online, the seat booking is not automatically transferred to the new flight, and Kulula staff cannot transfer it or make it manually for you. So you lose it, your seat booking fee, and to add insult to injury pay a change fee.
