Booked a return flight for my Mother on Monday 29 July with Kulula online. Ref:YIOTIF
Her name is Ritha, the names reflecting on her ID book is Maria Wilhelmina Jacomina. I made the booking under Ritha.
Completed the booking, pad for the booking, received booking confirmation and e-tickets.
I gave Kulula a call today to confirm whether it would be a problem for her name showing Ritha on the ticket in stead of the names matching her ID book - thinking, that if it would be an issue, we should change the names so that there would not be any issued when she checks in.
To my COMPLETE SHOCK, the kulula call centre tells me that they cannot change names, and because the names do not match - the airport will not allow her on the plane. And also, that my ticket is non-refundable.
Which means I have just lost R 1 547!!
How is this possible!??! Certainly they must be able to cater for people who make mistakes while booking online. And most certainly they cannot refuse someone access to the plane based SOLELY upon a name!
I have full proof of the booking and payment of the ticket, surely this is sufficient evidence for Kulula to issue a name change on the booking! *Flight date only 21/09/20
