Cancellation of the contract

My account with Vodacom was in arrears and paid off on the 2nd month in full including paying for the May subscription. When I called Vodacom to reconnect my line, I was told that I would have to go apply at the Vodacom Shop where I would fill up a form to request such. Bearing in mind that The line was working and connected till the 4th of April 2013. When I went to the Vodacom Sandton shop, last week, I was told that this number has been deleted and has been handed over to legal. In all this, happened without any correspondence from Vodacom informing me of their intention to cancel the contract. I am now in the dark as to what to do to have my account reinstated.
