Efusal to disclose outstanding balance

It frustrates that its so easy for Vodacom to hand me over to attorneys, yet they cannot be honest with me when asked for the amount that was actually oustanding. I am told to call the attorneys... why is this... are you trying to cheat me by asking for way more than my initial debt,
FYI the collectors have never sent me a detailed statement highlighting the initial debt, and now you also refuse to tell me this amount, yet i am expected to just fork out thousands as a settlement just because the collectors give me an amount, yet i have no idea how the debt even arrived arrived at this amount, probably 'legal charges' that ordinary people cannot understand or argue, we just have to pay way more than we actually owe.
ALSO - i contacted your collectors as i had funds available to settle my debt with you, yet your collectors do not return my mails or contact me, so i call them to advsie i have a certain amount available to settle, yet agian they do not respond timeously for me to know where i stand, now they are asking for funds that i am sure is way above my initial debt, yet no one is honest enough to just give a break down, disappointing and not acceptale. this can't be legal
