How long is 24 hours?

I am an existing customer of CellC and have been for since CellC started in South Africa. I moved from a contract to pay as you go and recently I was contacted by CellC Direct and agreed to take a contract again.

So on 2013/04/09 my handset was delivered and I was told it take 24 hours for the sim card to be activated.

So this morning at 10:30, I phoned 140 to find out why my sim card is still inactive. After my third call where I am transferred from person to person and then finally cut off, I gave up and sent the consultant who sold me the phone, Thabo an email to which he replied saying someone will call me and that he will follow up at 13:00.

So here I am with half a service and a new phone that I can't use. I wonder if I am going to just get half an account at the end of the month. I guess not.
