We are a number of people working as contractors at a large bank in Simmonds Street in Johannesburg. As we are contractors, we do not make use of the bank's Network facilities but use our own 3G cards for access. We require full time access to the internet for email, etc. Because of the good rates offered by Cell C, all of us decided to leave our current network and move to Cell C. We all invested in the special of buying 2GB per month for a year by paying for the year in advance. What a big mistake. The Cell C network is unavailable for half of the time, and 50% of the remaining time it is downloading data at a speed of 0.5 MBS (according to [URL Removed] I have called Cell C Help desk but received simple excuses. I called someone senior at Cell C Headquarters and was promised that someone would contact me to try and resolve the issue, but nothing happened. We are now all looking at moving back to another provider, but have wasted the money we spend in a 1 year contract in advance. So whatever you do, do not fall for the "Cheapest Rate around" gimmick, as Cell C do not have the infrastructure or service to back this up.
