In January 2011 I took a 24 months cellphone contract with Cell C. In December 2011 I paid it off and the consultant adviced that if I cancell before time, there will be penalties, however I can pay it off but still continue to use the number for the remainder of the contract period. My 24 months ended in January 2013 but Cell C is still debiting my account.
