I have a Data Account (amongst other accounts) with vodacom which I pay R129 for pm which includes 1Gig Data pm. just after a month of having my contract i called the call centre to implement a limit to my account so that i do not exceed the 1 Gig data. obviously this was not implemented because last month vodacom deducted R 1500 and at the end of this month they will be deducting R 2700 from my account. Apparently Vodacom Charge R 2048 per gig (R2 per MB) of data if you exceed your contract limit.

These tarrifs are beyond Ridiculous!! How can any1 afford data at a rate of R2048 per a gig!! Had i been notified of these rates or sent a notification saying that i have exceeded my limit and i will be charged at a different rate then i would understand... none of this was done. no notifications!
In order for me to qualify for a contract you have to do credit checks which will clearly tell you that i cannot afford to pay R 2700 in one month for data!! Vodacom should have some kind of credit limit or send out balance notifications - especially with vodacom data accounts as it is very difficult to check your balance at any given time!
R 2048 for a Gig of data is really Ridiculous!!
