I report a fault on my line 17/03/2013. The line syncs but does not establish an internet connection.
18/03/2013: I receive a call from a Telkom agent. The agent asks me if my line is working, to which I respond no. He then proceeds to test my line, all the while I am monitoring it via my modem's interface. He drops my line from a 6 Mbps speed to a 5 Mbps speed to a 4 Mbps speed. The line syncs at each setting with no problem except for one, no internet connection is established at each speed. He then tells me I need to phone my ISP, to which I respond "But I have the Telkom guest details in my modem and I'm still not getting a connection, " he then repeats that I need to phone my ISP. I again tell him that I have the Telkom guest adsl account details in my modem. To which he responds "You must phone your ISP because I can see the line syncing on my side."
I then told him "I'll phone my ISP, goodbye, " and hung up. Not even 5 minutes later I get an SMS saying my service has been restored, to which it has not. This service is unacceptable, the technician didn't even try and delve into the problem further.
