Pathetic internet speed- average of 7.6kbps!!

I have just taken out a 2 Gig contract with Mtn and the line speed is shocking. For the last two days I have been receiving an average of 7.6kbps!! this is just unacceptable!
If this continues I will be cancelling my contract and going back to vodacom.
