Paying for number that does not belong to me!

I defaulted on my Vodacom account as I was unemployed for the past two years. I made contact with Vodacom and requested an outstanding amount owing of which they initially gave me an amount of approximately R 2500.00 to pay off. I was then contacted by a Debt Recovery Company (Sterdebt) to make arrangements to pay off the amounts owing. I was then given a staggering amount of R7158.00 to pay off. I was quite shocked to discover the difference in amounts owing and requested a statement of my account.
The employee from Sterdebt sent me a statement and I was quite concerned to see a cell phone number reflecting on the statement that does not belong to me (0823398217). I am now paying toward two numbers, one which is my number and a second that does not belong to me. The Sterdebt employee requested that I take the matter up with Vodacom Legal. I called on numerous occasions and also sent through emails requesting feedback and have received nothing to date. I am currently paying toward this unknown number with no feedback from Vodacom.
