Capped R149 DATA CARD COSTS US R38 353.44 in 6 mth

Dear Michael van Wyk

You told my husband this morning that it is against the law to release - EVEN TO THE ACCOUNT HOLDER - the details concerning the exact usage of the data card which you sold to us. You do recall that your sales person at your Claremont branch in Cape Town, sold us THE R149 CAPPED DATA CARD in February 2012. And R149 was indeed what we paid monthly from February 2012 - July 2012.

From August 2012 until January 2013, the full amount on the "CAPPED" data card should have been R894.00
( R149 x 6 months). INSTEAD WE RECEIVED INVOICES AND WERE BILLED R38 353.44 IN TOTAL.

The increases were very gradual on our general invoice (we have three other contracts with you). I foolishly trusting what your sales person had told us about the capped data card, assumed my husband had simply been using his cell phone more often for business. But not once the Nov invoice was R19 778.16.

On Wednesday, 19/12/2012, at 11h58, Petronella Mathebula (accounts) told me we would not be billed for disputed data card usage during the investigation. In January 2013 you took R25 407, 63 from our bank account. Is this legal? And is it that Vodacom employees mislead the public?
