Vodacom
Vodacom conversion to prepaid, forfeiting data

I have cancelled my contract with Vodacom and were advised that the conversion to prepaid will take place by midnight 28 February 2013. However the conversion took place during the day before midnight on 28 February 2013. I then forfeited my unused data of 300 mb which I paid for in advance, this is unacceptable and completely in contravention of Section 63 of the Consumer Protection Act.

Section 63 states that where a consumer makes and advance payment for goods or services to a supplier and is provided with a prepaid certificate, card, voucher or similar device that it remains valid until its full value has been redeemed in exchange for goods or services or for three years after the date on which it was issued.

I have paid for data and is therefore entitled to the full use thereof and should not merely forfeit it because of the conversion. How come Vodacom is allowed to operate in such a manner?
