I was an MTN pre-paid subscriber and recently decided to port my number from MTN to Vodacom. I went to Vodacom Eastgate on a Saturday and I was told that porting is only done between Monday and Friday (9am to 2pm). I made time on a Friday and went to Vodacom Sandton City; there I was told that porting is not done on a Friday.
I then went to Vodaworld Midrand on a Wednesday and the porting was done. I was told I will be active on the Vodacom network the following day. The following day my iPhone did not have Vodacom coverage. When I went back to Vodacom on Friday 22/02/2013, I was told that I need to book the phone in for assessment and I will definitely pay more than R500 depending on what the problem is. And this process will take 2 working days, it cannot be done on a weekend.
Why should I pay more than R500 to port my number to Vodacom?
