My Vodacom Top Up 75S contract expired during December 2012 and on the 8th of November 2012 and the 10 December 2012; I phoned the cancellations department and instructed the agents there to convert my number to a prepaid number and not to renew my contract. Two weeks ago I applied for a Cell C contract and asked them to port my existing number over to the Cell C network, which was subsequently declined by Vodacom. After phoning Vodacom customer care, I was informed that my Vodacom Top Up 75 S contract was renewed! This was done without my consent, with me having signed no paperwork what-so-ever and after I had phoned the cancellations department twice to ensure that it would not be renewed. Now, even though I have successfully converted my cell phone number to prepaid status, I am told I have to pay Vodacom for any Airtime given to me. I have been a Vodacom customer for 8 years, I have always ensured that every months payment go off in full with no problems, and I must now pay for airtime that I did not ask for or sign a contract to receive?! I would like a representative of Vodacom to contact me with a proper resolution to this appalling issue.
