Real Promotions
Scammers and false advertising

I Applied for a vacancy by them called "graduate trainee managament programme" on Career24. Me being fresh out of University needing experience I thought this was a perfect opportunity, being it paid or not paid. Firstly when I got there, I saw so many people in the lobby. I then found out at reception it was a group interview which needed to be informed violating my right to privacy. She didnt want to give specifics of the job and said the manager will inform me. RED FLAG number 1 but yet I sat anyway giving her the benefit of the doubt. 8 of us went in the board room. The manager went on about how this is an opportunity to grow and gain experience no matter what field you are in and also went on about starting from the bottom etc and then reaching the top. We were interviewed together and at the end she told us what the comapny does and the accounts it handles. Mainly 72% telkom and some expensive cream that costs 12000 a jar. But no actual specifics on what we are going to do. Through the whole interview im looking for a sign for what the job is about. Her vague description said nothing. I then left and later at 1550 I got a call for second interview. We were told to be there at 8 but they only started at 930. I was given to A woman. The guy incharge said we going to various sectors to show us what to expect and in my mind I expected "going to there head offices and showing us what they do and what administration we would help and learn from being trainees" and no. She took me to kuilsriver... and what do I find out... they selling telkom lte routers on the street like hustlers. The way I felt was conned, and mislead. I wanted to leave immediately but giving them the benefit of the doubt I went on. She kept giving speeches about how great the products are blah blah right. And they send staff to getaways and events all expenses paid. And I knew in the back of my mind these people Will leave me in kuilsriver if I dont play the game. So I did. The way she was explaining and talking, it was too good to be true. Every second person in the company is called "manager" and apparently you could become "manager" in 12months running your own division. In my mind I needed to laugh, sulk, cry, scream, HELP. at the end you had to write a test and if u dont score perfect 100 you out. So when we went back to the office, she asked me "am I interested, because you dont sound sure" I told her I needed to think about it which according to law I have a right to do and then she got angry, and ill never forget her words "you dont seem interested and we need people that wants this so just go, you not needed here. Go" so I left in shock as number one, it was falsly advertised, number 2 they lie to clients in order for them to open a contract and im not into that. number 3 they only tell you the actual job in the second interview after wasting your time for almost a whole day. Number 4, the salary is commission based which they only tell you after lunch. Number 5, they could have told me "this is a sales job, you will be a door to door sales man for the rest of your career" the advert posted was definitely not what the job was nor do I think they have a qualified HR person in the company. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. And I recorded everything they said to me to remind myself what to look out for when I come across this again. So disappointed.

Hi there Fatima. I too was almost fooled by Real Promotions. I remember applying for a ENTRY LEVEL MARKETING AND MANAGEMENT VODACOM INTERNSHIP on Careers24 website. That same day I received a phone call from the reception lady Rachel Strydom. She asked me a few q's on the phone and I got a date for the interview. Same thing happened when I got there. We were 8 candidates in the room. Lady by the name of Gugu who was a manager interviewed each one of us at the table. I immediately became suspicious when she told us about how we will be working 12hrs a day, Mon-Fri and half day on Saturday. Sundays we off. She then told us about how we going to work 4 weeks for them without pay and not even money for travelling! I thought to myself this is plain slavery and a scam because she didn't even mention anything about the Vdacom internship advert! Got out of there as soon as I could. Later that day I got a e-mail from Rachel saying congratulations I'm through to the next round which will be a FULL DAY INTERVIEW and that I should wear comfy shoes. I googled this company thoroughly and found your complaint about them and saw some reviews on Indeed. I informed my fam, friends and people on FB about this company. This company reminds me of the time I went for the MouldMed House interview. I hope that something gets done to prevent Real Promotions from false advertising and slavery. They'd probably change their name once they get news that people know of them.
