Incompetence costs me

My cellular device was recently and I chose to migrate /cancel my contract as there was no point in maintaining it.

I was then told that if i pay an amount of approx. R2650 that would end my contract and I will no longer be billed.

After signing the migration documents and paying the aforesaid fee, I was then billed R299 the fiollowing month and told that this fee will continue for the rest of the contract period as it is the device subsidy.

Before migrating the contract I specifically asked if there will be any further billing and was assured that I will not be billed further.

Upon enquiry of the new bill, I was offered to go back to my previous contract and the migration fee would be returned to me. I agreed to this option as it would mean me paying R100 more (the original contract premium R399) while retaining my free minutes and data etc., as I would have to pay for the device.

I was then called back by the same service consultant the next day to inform me that I will not have the migration fee refunded to me should I go back onto contract.

This incompetence has cost me almost R3000 and I have lost my contract benefits while still having to pay a monthly fee.
