My wife tried to opened a contract last year but to our surprise was unable to do so as a account was already opened under her ID number and bank account.
This was reported to Vodacom and the person owning the cellphone and number was contacted, it turns out Vodacom had the account opened in Durban linked to my wife's account and she was billed for the contract for close to 2 years. We have bank statements reflecting the charges by Vodacom for a number she has never used.
We have attempted to contact Vodacom a number of times but since the debit order been stopped they claim no record of this on their system. This is unacceptable as Vodacom refuse to refund the amount from her account!
