A very long story - my contract was illegally upgraded about two months ago. Despite filing a query and categorically stating that it was not me that had upgraded the account, Vodacom went ahead and attempted to deliver a Samsung S4, on my upgrade to some character. This was fortunately picked up by a very switched on courier guy who noticed that the delivery and billing addresses were totally different. Vodacom at this point was still going ahead with the upgrade! After many hours spent by me, the process was stopped and reversed.
Now, I am ready for a legit upgrade. Go to Vodacom Sandton, no stock, so they won't even look at my contract or try to initiate the upgrade until they get phones. I wanted to cancel a data contract as well. This needs to be done at the customer care centre - two shops away. Sat there for 10 minutes with nobody coming near me. I asked the lady at the desk to tell me where Cell C and MTN are, she obliged. I will be cancelling two cellphone and three data contracts. I work very hard for my money, obviously they don't need customers. Stop wasting your money on advertising, sort out your service.
