Telkom keep pushing back my fault without a reason

We Reported a fault on Friday 24th of January 2014 which we were informed that it will take 5 working days to fix, my mother who is at home called in to the call centre now to find out if there was an update only to receive no information except that it will be taking another 5 working days? Can there at least be some reasoning given to clients from your call centeres (Eg. Lines are down at the moment, Cable ect)? This is getting to much to handle how poor this company is run.
I have been a Telkom customer for many years now and its the same thing, the call center guys have no cooking clue what is happening in the area that is having a problem. I once waited a month for my internet to be fixed, during this time the call centre people told me to buy a new router, to buy a new port filter, only to find out 1 month later the cables had been in my area and everything i had bought was a waste of time. Its a simple fix - the technicians need a proper way of talking to the call center to inform the client.
