Transfer of line is same institute

I contacted Telkom early January 2014 to move a phone line for my parents (keeping their number 021 8764980) from one part of an old age home in Franschhoek, to another. The calender Telkom provided forced me to ask for the line to be cut on 8 January and to be reconnected on 10 January. I think I put the order in on 4 or 5 January. I had a call from Telkom to confirm the process. I received a SMS to confirm the transfer with reference number 91720564A on 6 January. Nothing happend, so I phoned 10210 on 21 January to trace the order, but I could not get a turn. So I went onto the internet account I created for my parents; could see no order and reported that. No reply.

I went to a Telkom Direct yesterday in Paarl, just to discover that is was scheduled for 24 February 2014! How is that possible? The operator said she would push for an earlier date.

If your account payment is late, they cut your line. If you ask for service, you wait forever. What is the point of having a Telkom service if you cannot use it?
