I bought a Motorola baby monitor from baby city Craighall park. The device kept on losing signal as a result we couldn't hear our baby crying for long periods of time! We returned the product to baby city who contacted Motorola to repair what was thought to be a faulty product. Baby city very kindly lent us a baby monitor of their own (as motorola had not provided baby city with a loan monitor for customers to use, unlike other baby monitor suppliers at the shop!) Motorola subsequently took the product for repairs. After not hearing back from them for 2 weeks, baby city gave me a new motorola monitor at their own expense, as a replacement. This monitor is equally faulty as it also loses signal intermittently which is unacceptable for a product designed to ensure baby well being!
My complaint to Motorola is 3 fold:
1) their baby monitors they produce are clearly defunct & I'd like to warn parents against buying this product
2) their after sales service in the Jhb area is appalling
3) it seems they don't provide loan monitors in the event of your monitor going in for repairs. This is unacceptable for a product aimed at ensuring baby well being & parent peace of mind
