I recently received a huge invoice, after returning from an international trip. The day that i left (19 December), i contacted Cell C to activate my roaming, and was advised that i should turn Data roaming off via Cell C. Mbali confirmed that she had turned this off. I also turned off the data roaming on my cell phone, and was unable to use any services on the phone unless i was connected to a wi fi hotspot (free service). I never connected to a service provider and was unable to make calls or send smses. I have called Cell C approximately 6 times, and have been told the following (a few fun facts that i remember off hand) - an investigation will be lodged, my roaming was off, and the bill is incorrect. Once they track the call it will be fixed. Someone will get back to me in 24 hours. - the cell phone was suspended on the 21st of December (this would mean that the charge was incurred on one day???) - my roaming can not be turned off via the call centre- the investigation will take 3 months and i must set up a payment arrangement?!?! This is absolutely shocking. Does anyone at Cell C know what they are doing?
