In November I upgraded my contract and received a SamsungS3 mini. However, I battled for a month or so with reception at my home and I then moved and again the reception was poor to non existent. I checked on line to see if the area I live in has 3g coverage and house does not. I logged a complaint on the Vodacom site and had 3 calls from the office to tell me that there was no coverage of 3g at my home and that there was no plan by Vodacom to provide coverage at my home and that I could cancel the contract. I went into the mall in Pietermaritzburg and they told me that I could indeed cancel the contract but that I would have to do it at the branch where I took the contract out. I phoned SCM who told me that I could not just cancel the contract I needed a report from a technician. I again phoned Vodacom only to be told that I would have to pay R8000 to cancel the contract. Now I have a phone that I am paying R500 plus for every month and that I cannot use in my home because Vodacom has not provided service in my area AND I must pay Vodacom R8000 to cancel the contract. Vodacom I smell a rat. Perhaps a court date will get you to indeed provide service to your customers.
