Suspending account after paying

I received a SMS from Autopage on 06 Jan 2014 stating that my account is in arrears as the debit was unsuccessfull for some reason. I made the full payment within a couple of minutes after receiving the SMS. On 09 January 2014 I received a second SMS stating that my account has been suspended due to non payment. I phoned the call center and the lady told me that it is a fault on their side, my account is up to date and will not be suspended. (I asked for a reference number as I know Autopage by now, she said there is no ref no for this call). When I tried to make another call later that day (Surprise!!) my account has been suspended. I phoned the call center again 3 times after that and the answers was:
1. The money has not been allocated to my account, my account will be re-activated as soon as it is allocated
2. My account has been reactivated and it will take about 1 hour.
3. It can take up to 24 hours to reactivate an account.

I know now that it was a BIG mistake to extend my contract with Autopage. I fixed the payment issue within a couple of minutes, why do I have to wait 24 hours for them to fix their mistake?
