A phone without a SIM card

I accepted an upgrade from this company, having misunderstood that they represented vodacom. It was a busy time of year, so I got to the phone later than I should have, and found that my old sim card was too large. This had NOT been discussed during the telephonic conversation, as far as I recall (but this could be checked). And now, they are uncontactable! Vodacom informs me that this is their problem, but the contact number is 'unobtainable'. I'm not sure who I am more angry at - the company for making such a basic mistake, or Vodacom for letting them do it.
