CANCEL MY "EXPIRED" CONTRACT

My contract with Telkom on the Telkom mix expired on the 2nd Dec 2013.
I went into the CapeGate branch on the 2nd Nov as I was told I had to go a month in advance to cancel my Telkom Mix contract. I received this reference number 88641015A
I requested a disconnection of my landline and didn't want to renew my cell contract. I also requested to keep my Cell no and to go on prepaid - they said that this wouldn't be a problem. My landline was disconnected as requested on the 3rd Dec but my cell is still active.
I then went into the N1 city branch spent 45 minutes on the phone to a Telkom agent trying to cancel my cell contract. Only to be told that there was no provision on the system to do that and that I could not keep my number as originally promised. One of the staff in the N1 branch was very helpful and said she would email someone that she knows that could deal with my problem. I am still waiting for my cell to be cancelled & have no idea if I can keep my number or not.
My questions are as follows
Why was my last account so high? How am I going to be billed now if my landline was disconnected on the 3rd Dec and its part of the Telkom mix package?
This needs to be sorted now - Please
