I telephonically upgraded my contract and opted for a new handset. I enquired about the delivery status 2 days later and was informed that delivery will happen on the next working day. When following up on this day, I was told that the order has been placed on back-order and no delivery date is available. Why was I not informed of this during my first call? Why was I misinformed during my second call? If I was given the correct information upfront, I would have opted to upgrade at one of the Vodacom shops and walked out with the handset. If it was a Vodacom wide stock issue I could have opted not to upgrade but to cancel my contract and open a new one elsewhere where they do have stock. I already sent a complaint to Vodacom, but received nothing more than an auto-reply.
