On 31 October 2013 I was robbed and my cellphone got taken. On the same day I went to Nashua mobile Braamfontein to enquire what process I need to follow to have the phone and the sim card for this number blocked. I was given an ITC number the on the 1st November 2013, where I was told to proceed to the nearest police station. On the 2nd November 2013 I made my way to the police station where I station where i was told to open a case for my phone. I then waited for a call back in 24 hours as per what I was told. I did not receive a call back. I then spoke to a gentleman in the insurance department at Nashua mobile who told me that my insurance claim was declined due to the fact that I was using another sim when my phone got.
I explained to the gentleman that the phone cannot be used when the sim is blocked I only use 1 sim in that phone, which was provided to me by nashua mobile. I was told that as per the terms and conditions of the insurance contract state that you cannot take the sim out of the phone, which I was not told and not given a copy of the insurance policy for the phone. This has put me in a difficult position as i am paying so much for the phone.
