I booked my phone (Samsung Galaxy S4) in for repairs on Saturday 9/11/2013. They told me I have the option of using the warranty assessment and repair, which I opted for. They told me to bring all the items that were in the box, including the manuals. I had to drive back home to go get all these items but then i realised that I didn't have the top part of the box.
The guy I spoke to told me they wouldn't be able to do the warranty assessment if i don't have the whole box because it has some info they need (WHICH I DID NOT KNOW ABOUT). They took the other stuff that came with the phone and told me that the assessment would take -4 working hrs. They even called the branch where i got the phone (Centurion) but they couldn't get hold of the person who assisted me - as she didn't give me the top cover of the box when I got the phone.
Now, my question is "Shouldn't they have the details of the phone on the system or on the phone itself without the box? " And why should I be penalised for this since they told me there's a possibility the assessment will be declined? As far as I know, my phone is still within the warranty period.
