MTN Flouts CPA dont buy samsung s4

19/07 2013 I took possession of a Samsung galaxy s4 purchased from MTN Hemingways. Since Day one I never had the joy of using my handset without charging every 6 to 8 hours. I attributed this to the fact that I use my handset quite a lot as I use it to co ordinate my business. My problems gradually became worse, freezing, camera failing more than working. Eventually it couldn't work longer than an hour without requiring a charge. I decided to do a quick search on "S4 problems" the results pointed to a faulty battery and turned out to be a global problem. In the rest of the world Samsung are replacing batteries free of charg. I then approached the MTN store, Cayleigh examined my battery and acknowledged that it was swollen but denied that she was aware of any other handsets exhibiting the same problems and was unaware that Samsung had been aware. Whole story doesnt fit Terms and conditions state that within 6 months if device defective you are entitled to refund, i have letter from MTN Stating that under no circumstances do they offer cash refunds. in the rest of the world samsung offers free batteries but not to 3rd world south africans.
